As of August 1984, Juan Bautista Avalle-Arce joined the permanent faculty of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of California, Santa Barbara, CA 93106.

National Public Radio will broadcast a
dramatization by the Globe Radio Repertory of Don Quixote I, in six
episodes, early in 1985. Part II, in seven episodes, is in preparation. George
Shipley and Carroll Johnson, scholarly advisors for the project, have contributed
essays to a companion booklet which, together with a cassette version of
the series, should be commercially available soon, possibly before next
spring.
