Arabic and Persian Baha'i Texts by Subh-i Azal - Mutammim-i Bayan
Subh-i Azal's The Completion of the Bayan Mutammim-i Bayan
Subh-i Azal. Mutammim-i Bayan ("Completion of the Bayan"). Manuscript facsimile, published Tehran, 1945?. Digitally reprinted. (East Lansing, Mi.: H-Bahai, 2000).
Notes: The Bab's works, the Arabic Bayan and the Persian Bayan, were designed to consist of books of 19 chapters each. Nineteen times 19 makes 361, which is equivalent in Arabic numerology to the phrase kullu shay', which translates as "all things." The Bab left the books to be completed by his successor. This manuscript is Mirza Yahya Subh-i Azal's completion of the Persian Bayan, in accordance with his claim to be the vicar of the Bab. The book is rare, and is not listed in the standard bibliographies or manuscript catalogues.
