Bio: I am a Ph.D. student and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of History focusing primarily on American military history of the twentieth century. My work maintains a central focus on the evolution of vertical aviation and the exploration of how this aviation community's intellectual and cultural history has interacted with social and political forces such as technological innovation, strategic thought, philosophical heritage, cultural values, doctrinal development, and labor development merge to produce distinctly new approaches to waging conventional war as well as military operations other than war. This leads to the study of topics as ranging as industrial and manpower mobilization, use of capital assets, civil-military relations, civil air transportation, and popular culture. |
