Bio: Daniel Clarkson Fisher (he/him/his) is a librarian residing on the traditional territories of the Anishnaabe Peoples and the Haudenosaunee Peoples, which are covered by the Upper Canada Treaties. He earned an MLIS from Western University in 2022 and an MFA in Documentary Media from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2019. Danny was the recipient of the 2022 Miriam Braverman Memorial Prize from the Progressive Librarians Guild. His winning essay, “A Promised (but Ultimately Unreachable) Land,” was published in PROGRESSIVE LIBRARIAN, and he presented it at the 2022 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition in Washington, D.C. Danny has also written about library and archival issues for H-Net: Humanities & Social Sciences Online, the Oral History Review Blog, and Podcast Review: A Los Angeles Review of Books Channel among others. In addition, he interviewed Academy Award-winning actor Jeff Bridges and Greyston founder Bernie Glassman about their book THE DUDE AND THE ZEN MASTER for the Los Angeles Public Library’s ALOUD series in 2013. |
