Bio: Darren N. Wagner is an Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellow sponsored by the Berlin Institute for Health and hosted by the Institut für Geschichte der Medizin und Ethik in der Medizin at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (2017–19). He received his PhD in History at the Centre for Eighteenth-Century Studies, University of York (2014). He then held a Social Studies and Humanities Research Council of Canada postdoctoral fellowship in affiliation with the Department of Social Studies of Medicine and the Department of History and Classical Studies at McGill University (2014–16), and a fellowship with the Canadian Research Chair in the Social History of Medicine (McGill, 2016–17). He researches sex, gender, reproduction, and neurology as related to cultural sensibility and sentimentality from the 17th to the 19th century. His work has appeared in the Journal for Eighteenth-Century Studies, Literature and Medicine, and the Journal of Literature and Science. He is a co-editor of The Secrets of Generation: Reproduction in the Long Eighteenth Century (University of Toronto Press, 2015). |
