Bio: I am an assistant professor of history at Georgia State University. My work deals with media, law, intellectual property, and the political culture of the twentieth-century United States. I received my PhD in History from Columbia University, and I was previously a Consortium for Faculty Diversity Fellow at Vassar College. My work has appeared in the Journal of American History, the Journal of Urban History, Southern Cultures, Technology and Culture, Salon, and Al Jazeera, among other publications, while my first book, Democracy of Sound: Music Piracy and the Remaking of American Copyright in the Twentieth Century, was published by Oxford University Press in 2013. |
