Bio: Dr. MacCuish graduated from The Virginia Military Institute with a BA in History in 1968. He attended Infantry Officer, Airborne, and Ranger Schools prior to being assigned to the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division in May 1969. In October of that year he was transferred to the 173rd Airborne Brigade, Vietnam. Upon completing his tour in Vietnam he was assigned to the Deputy Chief of Staff Intelligence, USAREUR & 7th Army, Heidelberg, Germany. In 1970 he was assigned to the office of Deputy Chief of Staff Intelligence, US Army Berlin as the liaison officer to the Allied Staff Berlin and the intelligence offices of the French and UK Commanders, Berlin. While in Berlin he earned his Master of Education Degree through Wayne State University’s Overseas Program at Tempelhof Air Force Base. He resigned from active duty in September 1974 but continued serving in the Army Reserves until his retirement in 1994. He has commanded infantry, technical intelligence, and Special Forces units. In his civilian life Dr. MacCuish has worked for Martin Marrietta Aerospace, Orlando, Florida as part of the Pershing II Missile System team. In 1990 he completed his doctorate at the University of Central Florida; and went to work for Harcourt Brace International as the international manager for educational and psychological products and services. In January 1999 he assumed his current position at the Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell AFB teaching strategy, leadership, and military ethics. He is a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College, Air Command and Staff College and the Air War College. |
