My primary interest is the contemporary operating environment. I focus my professional and personal studies on military, diplomatic history and political science. My military history focus ranges from large scale conventional operations to "small wars" and contingency operations from the 18th Century to the present. With that I am very interested in the development, training and employment of indigenous forces and the advisory effort that is required. For diplomatic history I am interested in international relations from the Peace of Westphalia to the present and I am interested in the formulation and schools of political theory.
My dissertation topic will focus on security force assistance and the military advisory effort. My goal is to use my experience and degree to remain engaged in the contemporaty dialogue on small wars and the US efforts as well as teach at in an academic environment.
