I am currently working on biographies of early sachems of the MOhegan. I am also currently working on a project, with Southwark Cathedral, to recognize Mahomet [II]/Weyonomon, who died of smallpox in London, 1736, while seeking justice from the Crown in the Mohegan Land case. I'm always interested in learning more about the Indians of Southern New England and the people with whom they interacted...among other things...

BLA from Connecticut College, in Anthropology; MLS from University of Rhode Island. I continue to take non-degree courses at local colleges and Universities. I gave a paper [Documentation Issues Concerning Tribal History and Recognition] on the importance of using original documents and the value of searching foeign repositories at the SAA August 2004 Conference in Boston; I am part of the board for the Stanton-Davis useum in Pawcatuck. This dwelling of Thomas Stanton, the original interpreter between the Indians in CT for the settlers, has been in the same family for 350 +/- years. It has passed its final hurdle with the Stonington P & Z Commission this past Tuesday; I collected and put together a sample of plantlife of this area, and the puposes for which these materials were used. I currently have responsibility for a circulating and reference library;; rare books, documents and maps; and the 3-D organic collection of the Mohegan Tribe.
