Dear H-Net readers:
With this issue, we are inaugurating a new feature at H-Net, a newsletter
that draws from the remarkable trove of talents and content developed by
our editors from your contributions to our networks. The newsletter will
offer feature articles by guest editors and contributors on issues in
humanities and new media; interviews with leaders in the field; stories
about our networks and their editors; and announcements about new threads
and features that our networks are pursuing.
Unlike for-profit content ventures on the web, H-Net's vast accumulation
of syllabi, teaching materials, electronic essays, discussion logs, web
resources, and commentary are assembled and prepared by volunteer field
experts serving as editors, backed by peer boards and supported by a staff
of students and professionals at MATRIX, Michigan State University's
state-of-the-art humanities technology center. It is our hope that this
newsletter will make it even easier for readers to learn about, engage,
and appreciate the efforts of editors and authors in fields they might not
normally include in their reading or surfing routines.
We would be delighted to hear from you about new features you would like
to see. Feel free to write to me, or to any H-Net officer with your
ideas.
Good wishes,
Peter Knupfer
