Assistant Professor

The Department of History in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Louisiana State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in modern Latin American history.  Region and specialization within Latin America are open.  Responsibilities include introductory undergraduate courses in Latin America history and World history, advanced undergraduate courses in area of specialization, and participating in the department’s graduate World history minor. Our department is dedicated to the goal of building a culturally diverse and pluralistic faculty and we encourage applications from members of groups underrepresented in History. Additionally, we seek candidates whose research, teaching, or experience has prepared them to contribute to diversity and inclusion in higher education

Required Qualifications:  Ph.D. in History and evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarship. 

Teaching load of two courses per semester; salary competitive and commensurate with qualifications.  The appointment begins August 2024.  An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check
