Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor in History
The Department of History of The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer/Assistant Teaching Professor position (non-tenure-track) in modern European History for the 2024 academic year. This is a 36-week, term appointment (two academic semesters; this term has a possibility of renewal). The anticipated start date is January 1, 2024.
Responsibilities will include teaching six courses (three per semester). Topics of these courses may include History of Western Civilization, Modern Europe, and the World War II era. This position will include resident and normal university service.
The successful candidate will be expected to promote and advance the department's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We especially welcome applications from members of underrepresented communities.
Appointment would be at the appropriate rank of Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor. Rank to be decided based on qualifications.
A Master's degree or higher in History or a related field is required at the time of appointment. Applicants with a Ph.D. and/or teaching experience are preferred.
