The Department of History at Clark University seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor of early American history to begin fall 2024. The successful candidate will have an additional specialization in Native American history, Indigenous history, or Latin American history. Candidates must have PhD in hand no later than August 2024.
We seek a historian with the ability to teach courses at all levels of our undergraduate curriculum including introductory courses in early American history and more specialized courses for advanced undergraduates in early American history and Native American history, Indigenous history, or Latin American History. In addition, applicants should anticipate contributing to the training of MA students in the department’s accelerated degree program and Ph.D. students in Holocaust and Genocide history.
The successful candidate will complement existing departmental strengths in African American history, Women’s and Gender history, the Atlantic World, and British Empire and be prepared to teach courses that scaffold interdisciplinary programs; possible connections include Africana Studies, Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies, Genocide and Human Rights, Latin American and Latino Studies, and Women’s and Gender Studies.
