Assistant/Associate/Full Professor

The Department of History is inviting applications for a full-time Assistant Professor or above to start in September 2023. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, and achievements. Candidates should have a doctorate degree in history and demonstrate the ability to effectively teach at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels while pursuing an active research agenda. The field of specialization is world history with an emphasis on international relations, diplomatic history, American history, Western thoughts, and/or history of science and technology. Preference will be given to those applicants who have at least two years of teaching experience and a good track record in research and publication. Proficiency in English is required, and the capability to teach ancient world history is a plus.

Hong Kong Shue Yan University is the first private school in Hong Kong, with a student body of around 4,000 and a diversity of international academic staff, ranked by QS within the range of 300-350 and located on the top of Braemar Hill over the beautiful Victorian Harbour.
