The Jackson School of Global Affairs at Yale University seeks to hire a Lecturer in Global Health into a two-year, renewable position. Area specializations are open; they should complement the research and teaching interests of current faculty. Preferred start date is July 1st, 2023, though there is some flexibility. This is not a tenure-track position.
The Jackson School of Global Affairs continues to expand opportunities for interdisciplinary academic study that provide a comprehensive and grounded understanding of global health and global affairs (https://jackson.yale.edu/).
The multidisciplinary academic Program in Global Health Studies serves a vibrant cohort of undergraduates drawn from many different majors in the social and biological sciences at Yale. Each year, the Program admits about 30 new students, competitively selected from applicants in their sophomore year. The Program provides students rigorous training and engagement with the skills and knowledge relevant to global health research and practice.
The candidate will teach required and elective courses in the Global Health Studies Program. These may include courses in epidemiology, quantitative and qualitative social sciences, and/or courses in global health (such as Global Health: Challenges and Responses and the senior-level Global Health Colloquium). The candidate will assume the role of program coordinator and advise the students admitted to the program with respect to projects and career development.
