History. The Department of History at Saint Mary’s College invites applications for a one-year, visiting appointment for a teacher/scholar with a Ph.D. (ABD considered) in the history of Europe. Teaching responsibilities include two sections of the World History survey and one upper-level course in the area of specialty each semester. One section of the World survey will be listed in the college’s W or writing program. Interest and expertise in supporting student writing development required. While the contract begins in August, a stipend is available for the development of a W course in the summer. Review of credentials will begin on March 20 and continue until an appointment is made. Send letter of application, c.v., graduate transcripts, at least two letters of reference, evidence of teaching effectiveness (e.g. statement of teaching philosophy, teaching evaluations, etc.), and a statement of your understanding, contributions, and plans for advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice to Dr. Bill Svelmoe at historysearch@saintmarys.edu.
