The Department of English Language and Literature invites applications for the post of full-time Associate or Assistant Professor to start in August 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates should have a doctoral degree in English or a related subject and demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels while pursuing an active research agenda. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in research postgraduate supervision. Successful candidates may also be asked to contribute to the teaching of academic literacy. Preference will be given to applicants with substantial tertiary level teaching experience and an established track record in research and publication. Research-active candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment initially at the rank of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer.
