Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow in Korean Studies: Lewis & Clark College, a private liberal arts college with 2,200 undergraduates, invites applications for a two-year teaching postdoctoral position in the Asian Studies Program, beginning fall of 2023. The teaching field is Korea. Examples of specializations include, but are not limited to, international relations, environmental studies, political economy, popular culture, art, art history, or development studies. Fellows teach three courses per year – one or two each semester - in the fellow’s area of expertise. Lewis & Clark has a well-developed mentorship program for junior faculty and offers a unique opportunity for a recent Ph.D. to develop as a teacher and scholar. The fellow is expected to contribute to the intellectual life of the campus through interactions with faculty and students, and a scholarly presentation each academic year. Ph.D. required at the time of appointment. The fellowship begins mid-August 2023 and continues to the end of the spring 2025 semester. The fellow will be provided with an office, a computer, and full library access. The fellowship stipend ranges from $55,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience. The college will provide an additional $5,000 for moving expenses and research or conference travel. The fellow is also eligible for college-subsidized medical and dental insurance.
