The Department of History invites applications for full-time academic position(s) in Asian History. The position(s) of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor are open for application. We are particularly interested in hiring a scholar of Japan, Korea, or Southeast Asia history.

Applicants should (i) have obtained a doctoral degree and a solid publication record; (ii) be committed to teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; and (iii) be ready to supervise postgraduate students.

Salary and fringe benefits for the post(s) will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, which, subject to funding, performance and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later, either when the aggregate service period reaches 6 years, or sooner upon completing 1 year’s service, subject to special application and recommendation as appropriate.
