The Institute for Indology and Tibetology at LMU Munich invites applications for two positions: the first one as a Lecturer of Sanskrit, the second as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the History of Art and Archeology of South Asia.

1. Lecturer of Sanskrit
This is a full-time position as Lecturer of Sanskrit. The position is formally defined as a “Lehrkraft für besondere Aufgaben” (grade A 13) and it is meant to become permanent. If eligible, the post holder will become a public servant (Beamter). The deadline for applications is 21 December 2022, and our new colleague is expected to start on 1 April 2023.

2. Postdoctoral Researcher in the History of Art and Archeology of South Asia
This is a two year position, with the possibility of extension, for an art historian or archaeologist working on Classical and/or Medieval South Asia. The ambition is to strengthen the study of South Asian art and material culture at LMU. The deadline for applications is 22 December 2022, and we are relatively flexible on the start date.
