Position: Assistant Professor of Colonial Latin America/Mexico (Tenure Track)
The Department of Humanities at Texas A&M International University invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, Assistant Professor of History with a research specialty in Colonial Latin America, with a preference for Mexico. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in area(s) of expertise, maintain an active research and publishing agenda, and provide service to the department, college, university, and community.
Required qualifications include an earned doctorate in History (advanced ABDs will be considered for Visiting Assistant Professor appointment); research specialization and ability to teach courses in the history of Colonial Latin America; ability to teach survey courses in Western or World Civilizations; and willingness to teach US history survey courses. Position start date is August 14, 2023. Review of applications will begin December 15, 2022 and continue until the position is filled.
