The African American and African Diaspora Studies Department (AAADS) invites applications and nominations for a distinguished scholar to fill a tenured position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in the interdisciplinary area of Black Geographies. Black Geographies considers the legacies of transatlantic slavery, colonialism, and race/racism in the production of unequal spaces at once urban and rural, diasporic and local, and includes, but is not limited to, attention to questions of carceral enclosure (the school, the prison, and the ghetto), climate, environment, and the social (and spatial) determinants of health.
