Salary
Salary Range: $54,000/annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours per Week

Essential Functions
The History Department at UTSA is inviting applications for a two-year Diversity Postdoctoral Fellow position for candidates working on pre-1900 American history. Recent PhDs and ABDs whose work examines issues in African American history; Indigenous Studies; Texas history; and Race, Ethnicity, and Gender are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate would start in the Fall of 2023.
The postdoctoral fellow will have 1-1 teaching load during each of two academic years, and is expected to engage in an active and robust research agenda (including manuscript preparation, publication of research, conference presentations, and grant application) and develop an innovative teaching portfolio with emphasis on experiential learning, digital competence, and student research. The appointment will come with an annual salary, full benefits, and a research subsidy. Under the UTSA Provost's Diversity Postdoctoral Fellows to Faculty Program, this appointment will be eligible for consideration of conversion to a tenure-track faculty position at the end of the two-year period. This program is intended to increase the diversity of the academic research community by supporting promising scholars and educators from diverse backgrounds whose life experience and research experience will contribute significantly to academic excellence at UTSA and prepare them for future faculty appointment.
Required Qualifications
• Ph.D. in area of specialization or field of assignment. ABDs must have PhD in hand by May 31, 2023, to be eligible for appointment.

This position will be primarily located:
On Campus: Primary work location will be on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
