The Department of History, Philosophy, and Religion at Drury University welcomes applications for a broadly trained, tenure-track Assistant Professor of World History to begin August 2023. We seek a colleague to mentor students in critical reading, research, and writing skills through introductory and upper level courses. Specialists in all fields of World History (including India, China, Japan, Russia/Eastern Europe, Africa, or Latin America, or in thematic areas such as migration, transnational studies, global Cold War/socialisms, environmental history, the history of film, etc.) are welcome to apply. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach Asian history.
ABD candidates will be considered, but a Ph.D. in history by August 2023 is required.
The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching and mentorship as well as an active research agenda. Alongside History courses, they will teach one of our thematic first-year seminars required of all University students.
