Position Description
The Department of History at Vassar College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position in Indigenous history in Early North America, at the rank of assistant professor beginning August 2023.

The faculty member will be expected to teach courses in Colonial and Revolutionary America and contribute to Native American Studies in Vassar's American Studies program. Candidates interested in engaging in other ways with Vassar's rich array of multidisciplinary programs are especially encouraged to apply. Teaching load in the first year is four courses; after that it is five courses or four plus a tutorial-style “intensive,” which may include supervision of senior theses. Candidates must have the Ph.D. in History or related field in hand at the start of employment.
