The Department of History at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, the National Public Honors College, is accepting applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Modern Eastern European History. This one-year position begins August 2022. Teaching responsibilities will include LEAD/Core curriculum courses (Western Civilization, Twentieth Century World), and one upper division course in the candidate’s area of specialization. Applicants should have an advanced degree in History (Ph.D. preferred; if MA, they will be hired as visiting instructor) and be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching. A traditional course load is 3 courses per semester (a total of 12 credits), and maximum class size is around 25 students. The successful candidate must produce the necessary documentation to legally work in the US upon hire.
