Applications are now open for The HistoryMakers 2022-2023 Faculty Innovations in Pedagogy & Teaching Fellowship and Digital Archive Student Ambassador Program. We hope that you will help spread the word!
Up to eight (8) Faculty Innovations in Pedagogy and Teaching Fellowships ($7500) will be awarded. The fellowship period is June 2022-February 2023 and the fellowship awards will center around significant incorporation and use by faculty of The HistoryMakers Digital Archive in curricula and classroom instruction. The aim of the fellowship is to foster innovation and further student learning and research skills while providing 21st-century digital tools that diversify today’s and tomorrow’s higher education environments for virtual, hybrid, and in-person instruction. This fellowship builds upon the inaugural 2020 Innovations in Pedagogy and Teaching Fellowship program.
Successful applications will evidence a plan to significantly increase awareness and usage of The HistoryMakers Digital Archive on a given campus by deeply integrating The HistoryMakers Digital Archive into a course's design and syllabus. They also will evidence, through student work, increased student learning and engagement as well as the further diversification of the curriculum.
Applications are due no later than Friday, May 6, 2022. Awardees will be notified on Thursday, May 12, 2022, with awardees being announced nationally on Friday, May 20, 2022. Submission is open only to faculty at The HistoryMakers Digital Archive subscribing institutions.

Be specific about weekly integration of The HistoryMakers Digital Archive and how it will be integrated into grading of student work. • Syllabus: • If Reconfigured Course: Syllabus from the most recent course offering and significant, specific, and detailed proposed changes to the syllabus highlighting use of The HistoryMakers Digital Archive. • If New Course: Draft syllabus highlighting significant, specific, and detailed use of The HistoryMakers Digital Archive. • Rationale: Reasoning for selected course design and implementation. • Previous Usage. If applicable, include a detailed description of any of your previous usage of The HistoryMakers Digital Archive and what was learned. • Finding Yourself in the Digital Archive: A 500-word essay that describes how you found yourself in the Digital Archive as well as your process (please see more information here). |
