The Department of Romance Languages at the University of Georgia (http://www.rom.uga.edu) invites applications for four Spanish Lecturer positions, to begin August 1, 2022. The successful candidate will teach 24 credit hours per academic year in Hispanic linguistics, literature, film or culture and potentially teach in a related area of expertise (Hispanic Studies, Latinx Studies, or in Second Language Acquisition of Language Pedagogy) as well as contribute to the promotion and goals of the Spanish Program and the Department of Romance Languages. These nine-month non-tenure-track faculty positions include the possibility of a summer appointment and stipend, based on program needs.
—Ph.D. (in hand by start date) either in Hispanic Studies, Latinx Studies, or in Second Language Acquisition, Language Pedagogy, or a related field with an emphasis in Spanish.
—A minimum of two years of full-time experience teaching college level Spanish.
—Native or near-native fluency in both Spanish and English.
—The ability to teach in a related area of expertise (Hispanic Studies, Latinx Studies, or in Second Language Acquisition, Language Pedagogy.
Competitive applicants will demonstrate a record of teaching excellence and a strong commitment to language pedagogy, teaching, effective use of technology, curriculum development, and understanding of proficiency-based instruction and assessment.
