Wofford College’s Department of History invites applications for a visiting assistant professor for the 2022-23 academic year. In the fall of 2022, the visiting assistant professor will teach one section of HIST 102 (Western Civilization since 1815), two sections of HIST 112 (U.S. History since 1865) and one section of LIBA 101 (first-year seminar, specific topic proposed by the instructor). There is typically a maximum of 24 students enrolled in each history course and 16 in the LIBA seminar. In the spring 2023 semester, the visiting assistant professor will teach two sections of HIST 102 (Western Civilization since 1815) and two sections of HIST 112 (U.S. History since 1865).
QUALIFICATIONS:
The position requires a Ph.D. (or ABD) in European or U.S. History. We seek candidates who have a passion for teaching undergraduates.
