SUMMARY:
This position will teach full-time (4/4) in the history program, in addition to performing advising, service and scholarship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Teach the following upper division courses: American Slavery; Colonial North America; Early American Republic; Early US Women; American Revolution.
Teach lower division U.S. History classes.
Ability to teach in classroom format; hybrid, and online.
Scholarship in the discipline, advising, and service to the department are expected.
QUALIFICATIONS
The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; some assigned courses may be taught on-line, hybrid, or via distance delivery modalities. Scholarship in the discipline, involvement with advising and service to the department and profession are expected.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED:
PhD in American History; ABD considered in expectation that PhD will be awarded by August 2022.
PREFERRED:
Experience teaching college level American History courses in both lecture and online formats.
