Full-Time Lecturer of Premodern Japanese Studies

The Department of Asian & Asian American Studies at Binghamton University (SUNY) invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Japanese Studies/East Asian Studies. This full-time, three-year appointment, which has the possibility of renewal, begins in Fall 2022. The required teaching load is three courses per semester; two in premodern Japanese Studies, and a third to be determined based on the needs of the department and the successful candidate’s areas of specialty/interest. Applicants should hold a PhD in Premodern Japanese Studies (literature, culture, history or related field). We are especially interested in applicants with teaching experience at North American universities who have native or near-native proficiency in English.
