Assistant Professor, History of the Ancient Mediterranean World
The Department of History in the Fulton School of Liberal Arts is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor, History of the Ancient Mediterranean World. This is a tenure-track position.
Area of Specialization: Preferred areas of expertise include Late Antiquity, Urban History, and/or Imperialism
Primary Job Duties: Teaching load is 3-3 to include World Civilizations, specialized upper division undergraduate, and graduate courses for our M.A. in History program. Salisbury University faculty members are expected to engage in appropriate levels of scholarly activity, student advisement, and service, and to develop an effective teaching style that supports a diverse student body. Successful candidates should demonstrate an interest in developing courses in support of the university's new general education program.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in History or pertinent related field required. Successful candidates should have experience teaching specialized upper-division courses and survey courses at the undergraduate level.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with experience developing and offering courses for first-year students and experiential learning. Preference will be given for experience and ability to teach in living/learning communities.
