Position Summary:
The University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, invites applications for a full-time Temporary Lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures. The department seeks a dynamic and collaborative faculty member to teach in the Vandal Gateway Program and in the American Languages and Cultures Program. The successful candidate will be academically prepared and professionally qualified for a 15-credit teaching load each semester. This temporary appointment is only for the 2022-2023 academic year and will not be continued.
Minimum Qualifications:
• M.A. in Foreign Language Pedagogy, Spanish, Second-Language Acquisition and/or Applied Linguistics.
• Native/near native fluency in English and Spanish
• Two years experience teaching Spanish on the post-secondary level.
• A demonstrated ability to utilize technology in communications, assessment, teaching, and learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
• ABD or Ph.D. in Foreign Language Pedagogy, Spanish, Second-Language Acquisition and/or Applied Linguistics.
• Background of travel, work, study and/or residence in a Spanish-speaking region.
• Experience teaching culture and film courses in English.
• Experience teaching online Spanish language courses.
