The Department of History at the University of Rochester invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professorship in the field of African American History, with a start date of July 1, 2022. We welcome all approaches to historical study and encourage applications from those versed in interdisciplinary and digital methodologies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach three courses per semester, with course offerings to include both halves of a survey course on African American history, as well as more specialized upper-level courses. Classes begin for Fall 2022 on August 31.
Minimum qualifications include PhD in History or appropriate related field (in hand by August 1st, 2022) and evidence of excellence in scholarship and teaching.
