The Department of History at Emory University invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in Latin American Racial and Ethnic History. The Department seeks a scholar to offer courses in the field, and whose research and teaching speak in direct ways to Indigenous, African and African-descended, and/or multi-ethnic histories of Latin America. Additional themes central to the field that complement existing strengths within the History Department and Emory University include but are not limited to: ethnohistory, gender; narrative and oral history; labor; environmental history; borderlands; globalization and capitalism; empire; law; and religion.
The teaching load is three courses and the selected applicant will receive a research stipend. Completion of the Ph.D. by August 1, 2022 is required.
Time of appointment: August 1, 2022 to May 31, 2023.
