The Central European University Press (CEU Press) invites applications for a Managing Editor, CEU Review of Books position. The initial contract is for one year, with the possibility of renewal.
Background:
Reflecting on the intellectual strengths and values of its parent institution, Central European University, the CEU Press has been publishing books since 1993 by authors from around the world on a wide range of subjects in the Humanities and Social Sciences, including political philosophy and practices of open society, history, Jewish studies, economics, medieval studies, literature, legal studies, nationalism, human rights, political science, international relations, gender studies, media studies, and art history. We publish authors that bring a regional perspective to some of the major issues of the world, contributing to global debates on pressing topics such as democracy and climate change.
In early 2022, we are planning to launch the CEU Review of Books, an open access review journal, that brings a distinctly Central European flavor to the way books are curated. The platform will publish reviews of books on the region, published by various publishers — and/or by authors from the region on topics of global significance. It will also review important titles written in languages of the region with all reviews written in English.
