Summer 2021 STS Teaching Adjunct Position
|Institution Type:||College / University|
|Location:||Virginia, United States|
The Graduate Program in Science and Technology Studies at Virginia Tech is hiring an Adjunct Instructor to teach a 12-week course during the summer 2022 session. Depending on pandemic circumstances, the course will likely be offered in a hybrid format (students can attend either in-person or via Zoom). The course counts as an elective for our students; the topic is negotiable, but it must have a strong connection to STS scholarship. Our seminars are small (6-12 students) and discussion-oriented. They typically involve substantial reading and writing assignments, including a final paper based on an independent research project. Technical support for creating a course website on our learning platform (Canvas), and for live online participation (on Zoom) is available both before and during the course.
Virginia Tech’s STS program in Northern Virginia serves working professionals who pursue an advanced degree while fully employed. Our building is located next to the West Falls Church metro stop and features ample parking.
Ph.D. in STS or related discipline required. Compensation $6000.
