Brief Summary of Job Duties
The job duties include: Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in African American History, and the General Education US Survey and Introduction to the African Diaspora courses; conducting research; advising and mentoring students; serving on Department and College Committees and performing other duties as assigned.
Requested Minimum Qualifications
The successful Candidate must have a Ph.D. in History from an accredited College or University, at the time of appointment.
Other Preferences for Consideration
Preference is for candidates who can teach undergraduate courses and contribute to the department's graduate programs in African American Studies and African American history. Candidates with the ability to teach African American Women's history is a plus. Teaching experience at an urban university, potential for scholarship, and ability to advise graduate students are desirable.
