The Center for Advancement of Students and Alumni into Graduate and Professional Programs (CASA) at Georgia State University seeks to hire a Project Coordinator. This person will provide coordination and support for the diverse portfolio of initiatives in the CASA, all of which aim to enhance progressions of Georgia State undergraduates into medical school, law school, and PhD programs around the nation.
Project Coordinator duties will include recruitment of students and monitoring their participation in CASA programs and events; creative design and implementation of workshops and symposia for undergraduate students, alumni, faculty mentors, and family support networks; careful evaluation and revision of programmatic elements; maintenance of clear communications internal and external to the CASA; and identification and dissemination of relevant resources for students and alumni. The Project Coordinator will also support current and future grant-funded initiatives, with a focus on the Humanities Inclusivity Program (HIP), funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, as well as internally-funded initiatives, such as the Perimeter Research Assistantship Program (PRA); this includes the design, implementation, and tracking of program content for target audiences, convening meetings among program participants and stakeholders, and preparation of reports for internal and external audiences. The CASA operates through web-based platforms, online and hybrid formats, campus-based communications, and group-based or one-on-one mentoring, with attention to ensuring that CASA initiatives are accessible to students from all backgrounds and a variety of current contexts.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a doctoral degree in a humanities discipline, digital literacy skills, administrative experience, and the ability to work effectively and efficiently on both team-based and independent tasks. We will consider applicants who are ABD. Candidates with experience in and/or commitment to enhancing diversity and inclusivity in the professoriate are encouraged to apply.
