Syracuse University Counseling and Human Services Department seeks a counselor educator to fill a full-time Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor position to begin August 22, 2022 and ending May 7, 2023 (although there are possibilities for summer teaching). Responsibilities of the position include teaching a variety of courses in our master’s programs (School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling), academic advising, and assisting in Department service activities.
A doctorate in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited university and experience as a practicum/internship supervisor is required. Eligibility for New York State licensure is preferred.
This is primarily a teaching position. We are especially interested in applicants with a school counseling background or who can teach in several of the following content areas: human development, counseling children and adolescents, counselor in the schools, career development, group work, social justice and multicultural counseling, research methods, counseling theory and practice, and crisis counseling. Salary will be commensurate with professional experience. Applicants must provide evidence of qualifications in teaching and supervision.
