The Departments of History and Africana Studies at the University of Northern Colorado invite applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track, in African History and the African Diaspora. PhD in History, Africana Studies, Black Studies or a closely related field required; ABD considered with degree in hand by time of hire.
This is a joint hire in History and Africana Studies with tenure residing in History. An active research agenda in African History and the African Diaspora is expected. The teaching load is 3-3. The position includes teaching introductory survey courses and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in area of specialty. Applicants should demonstrate ability or potential ability for excellence in teaching African History and the African Diaspora; the ability to teach African American History is desired but not required. Service includes advising undergraduate majors.
