Description
The Department of History at The University of Texas at Austin seeks to appoint, beginning Fall of academic year 2022-23, a scholar at any stage of an Assistant Professor level for a full-time tenure-track position with specialization in any area of the history of Colonial Latin America. This hire is part of a major departmental initiative to support our strong program in Latin American history.
The selected candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop a strong research program, direct graduate research, produce demonstrated evidence of successful research productivity, and exhibit a commitment to service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate will also be an affiliated faculty member of the Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS) and be encouraged to collaborate in the Institute’s program.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have a PhD in hand by August 18, 2022. Candidates must be able to present evidence of teaching and research publications excellence or potential for the same. We are interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching, research and service.
