The University of Scranton Department of History invites applications for a full-time appointment in African American history beginning in Fall 2022. The position is open to applicants of all ranks. All chronological, geographical, and thematic approaches will be considered. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a Race in American History course, introductory U.S. history surveys, as well as courses in their respective subfields, and will collaborate will other faculty to create a new interdisciplinary Black Studies concentration. The standard teaching load is 3/3.
