The Department of History at the College of Charleston invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the history of the U.S. Civil War and Reconstruction eras to begin in August 2022. Candidates must have completed all requirements for a Ph.D. in American history by August 2022. In addition to upper-level and graduate courses in the U.S. Civil War and Reconstruction, the ability to teach survey courses in the general education curriculum in pre-modern and/or modern history is essential. Promise of excellence in teaching and research are required; teaching experience and publications are preferred.
