The Department of History at Auburn University invites applications for one (non-tenure-track) position at the rank of Instructor. The appointee will be primarily responsible for teaching sections of our two-term core undergraduate sequence in the history of technology, Technology and Civilization, but may also have the opportunity to teach courses in their area of specialization depending on departmental needs. The Instructor will teach a 4:4 course load. Area of specialization related to the history of technology is open.
The one-year appointment will begin on January 1, 2022, with a possibility of renewal for up to two additional years contingent upon need, funding, and satisfactory performance. Ph.D. in History or a related discipline at the time employment begins, but outstanding candidates who are in the final stages of doctoral candidacy may also be considered.
