Pacific University, Oregon, invites applications for a full-time, 18-month (with possibility of renewal) Visiting Assistant Professor position in Modern Japanese history beginning Spring of 2022. The teaching load is 6 courses per year, including First Year Seminar. A successful candidate will be able to teach courses in East Asian history more generally. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in history. Pacific University is a teaching-oriented, private, liberal arts college, located 25 miles west of Portland, Oregon. It is a designated Asian Pacific Islander serving institution. Pacific University is particularly interested in candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
