The Department of History at Drake University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Modern World and European History starting August 2022. The successful applicant will teach a 3/3 load, maintain a research program as a teacher-scholar, and advise/mentor students. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to and excellence in undergraduate teaching as well as scholarly achievement. Course responsibilities include teaching an introductory modern world history sequence, a research seminar, and other courses to be negotiated with the Department. Preference will be given to applicants who are prepared to teach pan-European and world history topics at the introductory and advanced undergraduate levels. Ph.D. in history required. Internal applicants will be considered. Salary competitive with peer schools and dependent on qualifications and experience.
