The Program in Jewish Studies and the Department of History at the University of Colorado Boulder invite applications for the Louis P. Singer Endowed Chair in Jewish History. We particularly encourage applications from scholars who specialize in modern European history. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda and teach a variety of courses in European and Jewish history/studies, including introductory survey courses, specialized courses in the candidate’s area of research, and broader courses on topics such as European and Jewish history and Holocaust and genocide studies. The successful candidate will also play an active role in training graduate students, and provide service to History and Jewish Studies, the campus, and the larger professional community. This is a tenured senior position open to advanced associate professors and full professors working in History and related disciplines. While the tenure home of the successful candidate will be in the Department of History, we seek applicants who have the interest and vision to play a leadership role in the Program in Jewish Studies. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary commensurate with their rank and career merit as well as substantial annual endowment funding that can be utilized for purposes such as research and conference travel, programming, graduate student support, and summer salary.
Requirements:
Ph.D. or equivalent in History or a related field, with a specialization in Jewish History.
Applicants should hold the position of tenured associate professor or tenured full professor (or their equivalents) at their current institution.

Salary Range $100,000 - $180,000 salary based on rank (Associate or Full Professor) and career merit as a base salary in the Department of History combined with appointment as Endowed Singer Chair.
