Modern European History. Lecturer position. Non-tenure-track appointment beginning August 1, 2021. Ph.D. required by start date. One-year contract with possibility of renewal for one additional year.
The Department of History at the University of Tennessee seeks a Lecturer with teaching and research expertise in the history of Europe, broadly conceived, 18th century to present. The Lecturer appointed will be responsible for teaching three sections of a Western Civilization survey (40 students per section, 120 students per term total) in fall 2021 and spring 2022. The University of Tennessee plans to resume in-person instruction for fall 2021. The successful candidate must be on campus by August 1, 2021 and should expect to teach face to face.
