The History Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a one year visiting position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2021. We seek candidates to teach a survey of the Scientific Revolution and related courses in the history of science and early modern European intellectual history. Candidates will also advise several undergraduates engaged in independent research projects in these fields. In particular, we are seeking candidates whose work extends beyond Europe and who can contribute to our college's interdisciplinary program in Medieval and Renaissance Studies or to an area of interdisciplinary study as appropriate to the candidate’s background. We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with diverse student populations. Candidates with ABD will be considered, although candidates with a Ph. D. are preferred. The teaching load for this position is five courses.
